Literature Review of Educational System in Nursing -Baecalaureate Program, Associate Degreed Program, and Diploma Program Centered-

Abstract

|
To develop the Nursing Education system in Korea and to provide the qualitative nursing to meet social demands and health needs of population for nursing profession, the literature was reviewed on the nursing educational system in U. S. A. The results are as follows;
1. To cope with demands of thee society and health needs of the population, two different educational program for professional and technical nurses are needed, although they are more frequently refers to as professional nurses.
2. Nursing education which is based on Hospital should be under the control of on educational institution rather than a service agency and also the program should be included in general education system.
3. Before establishing 2-year program throughout the country, it would be wise to set up demonstration project in order to evaluate the advantages of 2-year program.
4. All of the graduates from different program are prepared to perform the definite nursing functions by clarifying the purposes of each program to develop nursing effectively.
5. Career ladder should be needed to give opportunity to the graduates who are strongly motivated, anxious to be developed professionally, and has a ability further study.
